On June 27th, 2026, members of the Buxton Police Department joined the Boardman family and loved ones; to honor the late Tracy Kay Boardman and recognize the extraordinary gift she bestowed upon the Buxton Police Department and the Town of Buxton. We are honored to announce this additional donated police cruiser has been added to our fleet in memory of Tracy. In keeping with the spirit of this generous donation, the vehicle was placed into service that very day and will be assigned to patrol to begin serving the community Tracy cared so deeply about. This cruiser represents far more than a vehicle—it is a lasting tribute to Tracy's life and legacy. Each time it responds to a call for service, patrols our neighborhoods, or assists a member of our community, it will serve as a reminder that one person's memory can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The addition of this cruiser will significantly enhance our department's ability to carry out its daily responsibilities, strengthening our capacity to provide reliable, professional service to the residents of Buxton. It also ensures our officers have the equipment and resources necessary to perform their duties safely, effectively, and at the highest level of service. We are sincerely grateful for this thoughtful donation and the opportunity to honor Tracy's memory in such a meaningful and lasting way. On behalf of the Buxton Police Department, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tracy Kay Boardman for her unwavering love and support of our department and the Town of Buxton. National Police Week, May 11th through May 16th, 2026, is to recognize, honor and remember our fallen Law Enforcement Officers. This week is dedicated to the service and sacrifice of all Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty, while protecting our communities across the nation. There are more than 750,000 officers serving across the United States, including the dedicated officers of the Buxton Police Department. Since the first recorded officer death in 1786, there have been 24,775 law enforcement officers in the US that have been killed in the line of duty and still counting. “In 2026, the names of 363 officers killed in the line of duty were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. These 363 officers include 109 officers who were killed during 2025. An additional 254 officers died in previous years (before 2025). Many of their stories of sacrifice had been lost to history until now. Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, the Buxton PD alongside the Buxton Fire & Rescue, celebrated our second year of National Night Out (NNO)! We can't wait to continue to grow this event in the years to come! Thank you to all who came to enjoy the food and fun! We would like to say a thank you to all the event staff, on-duty personnel from both Police and Fire, our mutual aid agencies that participated (to include the Maine Forest Rangers, the York County Tactical Dispatch and the York County EMA sUAS (Drone) Team), and thank you to all the other participating groups that joined our event and brought some really cool activities! If any company or business is interested in the next National Night Out (NNO) event in 2026, please reach out to our Buxton Emergency Communication Center at 207-929-6612, and they will direct you to the right place! Lastly, a huge thank you to the event coordinators from both BPD and BFR departments. These individuals spent a significant amount of time and effort to put this amazing evening together and we couldn't be more appreciative of their hard work!

47th Basic Law Enforcement Training Program Graduation Ceremony The BPD is proud to announce the graduation of Officer Camden LaBrecque from the 47th Basic Law Enforcement Training Program (BLETP) at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. On May 23rd, staff joined Officer LaBrecque at the MCJA in Vassalboro, to celebrate his accomplishments. The BLETP is an eighteen-week intense program, to include academic and physical training. We are very proud of him for his hard work and determination through this process. Congratulations Officer LaBrecque and to all the newly pinned officers who graduated alongside him. Please join us in welcoming Officer LaBrecque back to the roads of Buxton, congratulating him for his success, and wishing him well in this next chapter of his career.
